Toyama City is known as a world-famous glass city, and is based in the Toyama Glass Art Institute and Toyama Glass Studio to support the development and production activities of glass artists. The Toyama Glass Museum is a symbol of this rich glass culture. This museum is located in the central city area of Toyama City, and was born as a culmination of glass-themed town development.

The museum building was designed by world-renowned architect Kengo Sumi, and combines different materials such as granite, glass, and aluminum to create a unique exterior reminiscent of the expressive Tateyama Mountain Range. The museum can be accessed by an attractive tram with the latest models and retro vehicles, and the movement itself is one of the pleasures.
